E-Learning Course "Scientific Integrity and Good Scientific Practice"
In Germany, the freedom of research is constitutionally guaranteed. This freedom goes along with the obligation to take responsibility as well as to act honestly. All members of LMU Munich who are involved in research are obliged to follow the principles of good scientific practice (Ordnung der LMU München zur Sicherung guter wissenschaftlicher Praxis, PDF). For the independent implementation of an own research project, it is therefore crucial to be aware of the characteristics of scientific work and the rules of good scientific practice.
The e-learning course "Scientific Integrity and Good Scientific Practice" developed by the GraduateCenterLMU provides basic interdisciplinary knowledge and thus contributes to safeguarding and enhancing research competence. The course is structured in modules and includes topics such as specifics of scientific work, national and international guidelines, and scientific misconduct. Each module concludes with short questions on the content presented. After the successful completion of the course, a certificate (Certificate of Participation) can be requested.
The course language is German or English. The duration of each module is about 30 minutes.

E-Learning Course "Research Data and Research Data Management"
The course "Research Data and Research Data Management" developed by the GraduateCenterLMU complements the e-learning course "Scientific Integrity and Good Scientific Practice". It offers introductory information on research data as well as data collection, documentation, protection, and availability. These topics will be discussed in the context of the FAIR principles and the research data lifecycle. The course is structured in several chapters and concludes with short questions on the content presented. After the successful completion of the course, a certificate (Certificate of Participation) can be requested.
The e-learning course complements existing teaching and information services offered by the University Library and the faculties and departments.
The duration is about 1 hour. Currently the course is available only in German language. The English version will be provided within the next weeks.
