LMU Stipends for LERU Doctoral Summer Schools

Since 2010 LMU Munich grants stipends for the annual LERU Doctoral Summer Schools. LERU (League of European Research Universities) is an association of 23 research-intensive universities in Europe.

The Ninth LERU Doctoral Summer School is hosted by the KU Leuven from July 9 to 13, 2018.

The theme of the summer school is "The Global Society – The Importance of Interdisciplinary Collaboration to Tackle Societal Challenges".

The summer school brings together participants and experts with a wide variety of academic backgrounds. It aims to create a unique international, intersectorial and interdisciplinary environment, in view of proposing solutions for major societal challenges. The participants will work in interdisciplinary teams on the solution of a selected challenge. Furthermore, they will receive high-level information and training from various experts in thematic sessions. At the end of the week, each team presents its findings, followed by a peer-evaluation session.
