Neurovascular diseases (NVDs) are a leading cause of disability, dementia, and death, yet therapies remain limited. New research highlights complex, compartmentalized brain organization with specialized vascular, immune, and glial cells shaping disease. The Collaborative Research Center CRC 1744 focuses on compartmentalized cellular networks (CCN in NVD), where interactions among these cells drive disease onset and progression.
The Integrated Research Training Group on Neurovascular Disease (IRTG-BrainVasc) provides doctoral candidates with a structured research training program focused on neurovascular function and dysfunction. Through its integrated training activities for doctoral candidates and supervisors, as well as a strong emphasis on social and networking opportunities—such as self-organized doctoral clubs, symposia, workshops, and informal exchanges—IRTG-BrainVasc serves as a vibrant, cross-disciplinary networking platform.
