Konrad Zuse School of Excellence in Reliable AI (relAI)

DAAD

The Konrad Zuse School of Excellence in Reliable AI (relAI) is a joint initiative of Technical University of Munich (TUM) and LMU Munich, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The school is embedded in the dynamic Munich AI ecosystem, bundling the expertise of the two universities and renowned non-university research institutions and industry partners. It brings together expertise in the mathematical and algorithmic foundations of reliable AI with domain knowledge in three core application domains: medicine and healthcare, robotics and interacting systems, and algorithmic decision-making. Future AI experts profit from top notch research-based training, industrial exposure and close cross-disciplinary supervision and mentoring.
The school's training program is aimed at master's students and doctoral researchers from computer science, mathematics and related disciplines. It focuses on the end-to-end development of reliable AI systems, both for industry and academia, keeping an eye on the social and ethical dimension of AI and aspects such as safety, security, and privacy-preservation.
