Doctoral Program "Infection Research on Human Pathogens@MvPI"

The international and interdisciplinary doctoral program "Infection Research on Human Pathogens@MvPI" is located at the Max von Pettenkofer Institute under the roof of the Munich Medical Research School. It is addressed to doctoral candidates with a background in the life sciences or medicine. The doctoral candidates work on cutting-edge research projects in basic research in human infections (bacteriology, virology, parasitology, immunology) as well as innovative translational areas (e.g. tumor therapy, phage therapy as well as vaccine development).

A tailor-made qualification program brings together interdisciplinary knowledge of infection research for a comprehensive understanding of infection processes and infection defense. Doctoral candidates are in close contact with a supervisory committee and benefit from established national and international scientific collaborations. Transferable skills offers as well as conference visits and regular presentations of the own research project complete the qualification measures during the doctorate.
