Targets in Toxicology – Deciphering Therapeutic Targets in Lung Toxicology

DFG: Research Training Group 2338

The Research Training Group 2338 provides doctoral researchers with the opportunity to complete their Ph.D. or medical thesis in the field of lung toxicology at the interface of basic and clinical science. The aim of the Research Training Group is to acquire an in-depth mechanistic understanding of toxic lung injury and to develop the new concept of "precision toxicology" in acute and chronic toxic lung injury. The structured Ph.D. program (Ph.D. in Medical Research) will implement specialized training in lung pathophysiology and the whole discipline of toxicology by an internationally renowned faculty.
The Research Training Group represents a truly international program and benefits from an excellent scientific environment and a state-of-the-art research infrastructure. Doctoral researchers will perform cutting edge research projects in a translational setting and profit from close mentorship, tailor-made teaching curricula, and international networking opportunities including an exchange program. The Research Training Group 2338 is a joint initiative by scientists from LMU Munich, Technische Universität München, Helmholtz Zentrum München, and the Bundeswehr Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
