Doktorand*innentag

Following a two-year break, the GraduateCenterLMU organized another Doktorand*innentag in mid-October with a new concept. Over three days, various aspects of crisis were explored in workshops and lectures, both in person and online, on the topic of "Promovieren in der Krise?".

More than 250 doctoral candidates and those interested in doctoral studies attended the event and actively participated in the various sessions. There was a lot of positive feedback on the new format of the event:

"That the offer exists and the overall concept [...]. I particularly liked the interdisciplinary exchange."

"Great program format, great guests!"

"It was so rewarding to attend this event. I felt valued as a doctoral student."

A special highlight was the first GC Science Slam with four candidates having to win over a critical audience for their topic. The evening was masterfully chaired by Professor Julia Budka and ended with an entertaining and cheerful reception. We are looking forward to the next round!

Also, the GC Forum on "Karrierewege nach der Promotion" focused on the exchange among doctoral peers. The format had its premiere during this year's Doktorand*innentag and will be an integral part of the GraduateCenterLMU program in the future.

The GraduateCenterLMU would like to thank Vice President Professor Francesca Biagini for her welcoming speech, the keynote speakers Professor Markus Vogt and Professor Mario Gollwitzer for their exciting presentations, as well as all the discussants and trainers.

Special thanks also to the slammers for their informative and entertaining contributions to the first GC Science Slam, and to Professor Julia Budka for the entertaining moderation!
