About Us
As the central unit for all matters related to doctoral studies at LMU Munich, the GraduateCenterLMU aims to optimize the conditions for all doctoral students at the university (both those participating in doctoral programs and individual doctoral students). We are constantly expanding our range of training courses for doctoral students, we monitor the development of supervision conditions and we support the faculties in the conception, implementation and quality assurance of structured doctoral programs
The GraduateCenterLMU was founded in 2008 as part of the "LMUexcellent" institutional strategy, which is funded by the Excellence Initiative of the German federal and state governments. Meanwhile the center has established a comprehensive range of services and advice, which are aimed in particular at the following target groups:
- Doctoral students
- Professors
- Coordinators of doctoral programs
We maintain an ongoing dialogue with our target groups so that we are aware of their changing requirements and can adjust our range of services and advice accordingly.
The GraduateCenterLMU is also supported by an advisory board, consisting of the spokespersons of the doctoral programs at LMU Munich.
