Academic Writing (Humanities and Social Sciences)
GraduateCenterLMU Workshop for Doctoral Candidates
The objectives of this workshop include improving doctoral candidates' abilities in composing and completing academic work in English. We will touch on the writing process, aspects of great academic writing as well as specific questions in language and style when writing in English.
- Writing strategies and organization
- Academic writing for the Humanities and Social Sciences
- Language use and style when writing in English, in particular, also for non-native speakers
- Editing and finalizing a written project
Requirements: Participants will be asked to submit an excerpt of their recent work in English at least 14 days in advance. This should be a chapter from your manuscript or dissertation, or your dissertation proposal. The excerpt should be around 2,500 words in length.

Target group: Doctoral candidates of LMU Munich from the Humanities and Social Sciences (the number of participants is limited)
Certificate of attendance: Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from the GraduateCenterLMU.
