Working in International Teams – Strategies for Intercultural Collaboration
GraduateCenterLMU Workshop for Doctoral Candidates and Postdocs
Cross-cultural collaboration in international teams is becoming a crucial everyday part of scientific working environments. It brings numerous benefits, but often leads to misunderstandings, irritation and resulting conflicts that can hinder productivity.
The aim of the training is to prepare participants for teamwork from an intercultural perspective. This means much more than learning "do's" and "don'ts" lists! We will bring the benefits of working in intercultural teams to the foreground and will learn how we can work together efficiently, sustainably and globally.
To achieve this goal, we will work with science-based models, short lectures and numerous exercises and group work sessions with a strong focus on the relevance for your professional and daily life.
- Engage individually with our own cultural backgrounds and their impact on intercultural collaboration
- Conflict management strategies in intercultural teamwork
- Analyze personal experience with teamwork in an intercultural context
- Develop strategies for self-experienced difficult situations in international teams
