Molecular Principles of Synthetic Biology
DFG: Research Training Group 2062
The Research Training Group (RTG) 2062 gives doctoral researchers the opportunity to participate in the dynamic and interdisciplinary new field of Synthetic Biology. Projects range from the development of synthetic proteins, to synthetic switches as well as artificial cells and even the creation of cell free synthetic-biological systems. These questions will be tackled in close collaboration of researchers from biology, chemistry and physics. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of the intricate functionality of cells, organisms and even ecosystems and thus contribute to the analysis and treatment of complex diseases as well as to the development of novel biotechnological processes. The RTG 2062 is a joint initiative by scientists from LMU Munich, Technische Universität München and the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry.
