Graduate Center, Research School, Graduate Academy – in the past years, many German universities have installed central institutions for promoting young scientists' education. In spite of variant denominations, they all have to cope with similar questions and challenges, to which local strategies and concepts have been developed.
The conference "Best Practice Models in German Graduate Education" introduces selected institutional strategies as well as concepts for single aspects in graduate education such as recruiting and recording, structuring of the different educational phases, quality assurance and networking.
We have invited national and international contributors to give an insight on their experiences, which can be exemplary to other institutions. Furthermore, this conference intends to stimulate discussions on the further advancement in promoting the education of young scientists.
The conference will take place in Munich on May 22 and 23, 2012. It primarily addresses colleagues from central university institutions in Germany concerned with graduate education. The number of participants is limited.
